In partnership with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and RBC Foundation, the Rick Hansen Foundation has launched the RBC Barrier Buster Grants Program. The program aims to empower communities to remove physical barriers and create spaces that welcome people of all ages and abilities.

The Barrier Buster Grants Program is making 40 grants up to $40,000 each available to schools, municipalities, community groups and non-profit organizations across Canada. The grants are intended to fund projects designed to improve access to physical spaces.

Some examples of projects include:

• Accessible play spaces
• Improved parking and exterior access
• Interior accessibility improvements for community facilities and workspaces
• Elevators and lifts
• Accessible washrooms and showers
• Accessible kitchens, cafeterias and eating spaces
• Emergency response and safety improvements
• Improvements to parks, trails and marine access

Community Initiatives Fund:  Summer Grant Program & Community Grant Program

Summer Grant Program 

The Summer Grant Program supports standalone summer programs for children and youth participants under 18 years of age. Summer programs must be held between June 1st and August 31st, 2026. Types of programs typically supported include summer camps and day programs offering positive recreation, arts, culture and learning opportunities for children and youth. Grant Amount: Maximum of $7,500.00

The Community Grant Program 

The Community Grant Program supports programs under three funding themes: the healthy growth and development of children and youth; individual and community well-being; and non-profit and community leadership. 

Grant Amount: 

Local programs that benefit residents of one community or region: maximum of $30,000

Provincial programs that are delivered in two or more regions or involve participation from across Saskatchewan: maximum of $50,000.

Fund your local project! The Innovation Federal Credit Union Community Grant Program is intended for one-time project-based proposals. That means financial help to start something new or to assist with large purchases that are not normally possible.

Guidelines

1) Applying organizations must be an Innovation Federal Credit Union member and operate in a Saskatchewan Community.

2) The program will provide funding to the following organizations; however, eligibility does not guarantee funding.

• Canadian Registered Charities
• Non-profit Organizations
• Municipalities
• Educational Institutions*
• Licensed Early Learning and Childcare Centres
• Sport and Recreation Associations

3) Projects must be completed within two years of receiving funding.

*Funding to educational institutions for after-school programs, playground structures, science fairs, and student clubs/organizations.

Grant Amounts

- Minimum funding request per organization: $2,500/year
- Maximum funding request per organization: $25,000/year

You can only submit one application per organization each application period.

You may receive funding in full or in part.

If you are applying for a grant in Pierceland or Goodsoil, please remember to check both the Community Grant and Legacy Fund options on the form, as you may be eligible for additional funds!

Application Periods & Response Time

Application period: January 1st to June 30th and July 1st to December 31st of each year. Successful applicants will be notified by July 1st and January 31st.of each year.

How to Apply

All Legacy Community Development Grant applications must be submitted through our online application to be considered for funding. The application will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Please ask your local advice centre/branch for help if needed.

To Apply visit: Legacy Community Development Grants

The Joint Recreation Grant Committee of the Town of Eastend, RM49 of White Valley and RM79 of Arlington, will start accepting applications for the Joint Recreation Grant in February 2^nd, 2026.

Please submit a letter with your 2025 funding requirements to the Municipal Office by 4:00pm on March 31^st, 2026 for consideration by the Recreation Grant Committee. The Municipal Councils request a project report stating how any previous Recreation Grant was utilized and that a Financial Statement for 2024 be submitted with the application letter for funding.

The Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant Program, provides access to sport, culture and recreation activities for all Saskatchewan people regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, economic status, physical or mental ability.

Funding is open to community non-profit and volunteer-led organizations. Expenditures must be directly related to the delivery of a sport, culture or recreation project.

Please take note of the following important dates:

• Applications can be submitted from February 2^nd  to March 31^st, 2026, to the municipal office in person, by email, or fax at (306) 295-3571.
• Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed.
• Eligible project expenditures must occur within the grant period of April 2^nd, 2026 to March 31^st, 2027.
• A follow-up report must be submitted by March 31^st, 2027.

The Canada Post Community Foundation will start accepting online applications for funding from February 9^th to February 27^th, 2026 (2:00pm ET).      

Schools, charities and community organizations can apply for funding of projects that make a difference in the lives of children and youth (up to age 21).

The Foundation will fund projects that support three primary focus areas - community, education and health.

Types of Grants:

- Community-based grants for projects valued at up to $25,000 each.

- Signature Grant, up to three signature grants of $50,000 each.

- Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Signature Grant of $50,000.

The paint donation covers any interior, exterior, primer, stain, and specialty coatings required.

The FCC AgriSpirit Fund has not yet announced when online applications for funding will open. The application period typically begins in the spring. For reference, last year’s program guidelines and details are available at FCC AgriSpirit Fund.

Do you have a project that will enhance lives or contribute to sustainability in your rural community? The FCC AgriSpirit Fund may provide between $5,000 to $25,000 to projects that qualify in a city, town or Indigenous community with fewer than 150,000 people.

Examples of projects the FCC considers:

• Construction of or upgrades to community buildings
• Projects to support food recovery or reduction of food waste.
• Initiatives that support agriculture and food.
• Projects that reduce your environmental footprint.

Projects that improve accessibility and inclusion. 

The SaskEnergy Sponsorship Program accepts and process applications all year-round.

SaskEnergy provides support for non-profit and charitable organizations that are focused on helping make Saskatchewan a great place to live. Apply for:

• Promotional Item Donations: lanyards and raffle/silent auction packages 
• Financial Donations: cash donations, combination of promotional item and cash donations, Share the Warm Grants and Volunteer Fire Department Fundraising Grants.

The Co-op Community Spaces Program has not yet announced when online applications for funding will open. In previous years, the application period typically ram from February to March.

Projects can apply for between $25,000 - $150,000 in capital funding in three categories:

• Recreation: Providing enhanced recreation spaces in the community.
• Environmental Conservation: Preservation of natural spaces in the community.
• Urban Agriculture: Small-scale community agricultural initiatives in both rural and urban spaces.
