RBC Barrier Buster Grants Program - Apply by March 15, 2026
In partnership with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and RBC Foundation, the Rick Hansen Foundation has launched the RBC Barrier Buster Grants Program. The program aims to empower communities to remove physical barriers and create spaces that welcome people of all ages and abilities.
The Barrier Buster Grants Program is making 40 grants up to $40,000 each available to schools, municipalities, community groups and non-profit organizations across Canada. The grants are intended to fund projects designed to improve access to physical spaces.
Some examples of projects include:
- Accessible play spaces
- Improved parking and exterior access
- Interior accessibility improvements for community facilities and workspaces
- Elevators and lifts
- Accessible washrooms and showers
- Accessible kitchens, cafeterias and eating spaces
- Emergency response and safety improvements
- Improvements to parks, trails and marine access
